How Israeli Companies Can Compare GEO Consulting Proposals
When an Israeli company already has an SEO team, a GEO consulting proposal should explain what the outside specialist will add. The useful starting point is a business question: which decision is the team unable to make, and what evidence would help it move forward?
Generative engine optimization, usually shortened to GEO, describes work on visibility in AI search and answers. Providers can use the same term for different services. One proposal may cover a review and recommendations; another may include writing, technical implementation or ongoing monitoring. Compare those responsibilities before comparing the headline fee.
Start with the gap in your existing team
A team might need a second opinion on its priorities, help interpreting AI visibility data, or a review of whether important pages answer buyer questions clearly. Those are different assignments. Write down the specific gap before deciding whether to hire a consultant, commission content or buy another monitoring tool.
Nir Levi is one consultant whose website describes GEO and AEO consulting for companies in Israel. His service page at nirlevi.com/en/services/geo-aeo/ outlines AI visibility reviews and content and technical action plans, with Hebrew or English coverage agreed in advance. This is the provider's description of its offer; it does not establish comparative performance. Use the same scope questions when assessing this or another consulting proposal.
Apply the same questions to every provider: who investigates, who recommends, who implements and who checks the finished work? A recommendation without an owner may remain in a document, even if the underlying finding is useful.
Define the Israeli audience and the working language
Being based in Israel does not define the audience for every page. An Israeli software company may sell internationally in English while supporting domestic buyers in Hebrew. A local professional service may depend primarily on questions about availability and suitability in Israel. Write the intended customer, market and publication language into the brief before choosing prompts or commissioning articles.
Ask whether Hebrew and English research are separate workstreams, who reviews each language, and which market the reporting covers. An English article can discuss an Israeli buyer's needs, but publishing it does not demonstrate visibility for Hebrew queries. If the first phase covers English only, make that boundary explicit and price any later Hebrew work separately.
Turn each promised deliverable into something inspectable
| Proposal component | What to request | What to clarify |
|---|---|---|
| Initial review | The questions, pages and sources examined, with dates and methods | Which systems and account data are included or unavailable? |
| Action plan | Prioritized findings, a reason for each task and an assigned owner | Which tasks depend on your content, product or engineering team? |
| Content brief | A reader need, questions to answer and evidence for factual claims | Does this require a new article or an update to an existing page? |
| Implementation support | A clear description of what the consultant will change or help check | Is the fee for advice, execution, verification or some combination? |
| Reporting | Metric definitions, a comparison period and the original observations | Which conclusions are supported, and which remain uncertain? |
This table is a suggested purchasing worksheet, not a specification offered by any particular consultant. Ask each finalist to complete it against the same initial problem. Then compare both the external fee and the internal work required.
Use a small assignment to expose differences in scope
Consider an illustrative Israeli SaaS team reviewing a product page that does not explain which companies the product serves. A review-only proposal might identify the missing information and provide a brief. A broader engagement might also support the rewrite, coordinate a template change and check the live result.
Neither scope is automatically better. The right choice depends on whether the team has the capacity and expertise to complete the remaining work. For this assignment, an acceptance check could be that the agreed information appears on the live page and is accurate. An appearance in an AI answer is a separate observation, not a prerequisite for confirming that the page change was implemented.
Ask what the visibility numbers actually mean
A brand mention, a cited URL and a recommendation are different events. A mention shows that the brand name appeared. A citation points to a source. A recommendation presents the brand as an option for the user's need. None of these alone establishes that a visitor became a qualified lead.
Provider metrics also have specific definitions. Bing's explanation of AI Performance says that page-level citation counts describe how often a URL is referenced, rather than its ranking or placement within an answer. Check which reports are available in your account and what surfaces they cover before adding their figures to a proposal's success criteria.
For manual answer checks, request the exact prompts, system or surface, dates, original answers and cited URLs. Repeat a consistent protocol if you want to compare observations over time. A before-and-after difference does not, by itself, establish that the consulting work caused the change.
Research queries should inform the plan
Breaking a buyer question into searches about scope, measurement and implementation can reveal information the article needs to address. It does not mean each search deserves a separate page. Google's guidance on generative search warns against producing content for every query variation primarily to manipulate rankings or AI responses.
Ask why each proposed article needs to exist, what evidence it contributes and whether an existing page already serves the same reader need. A useful content plan should make that decision visible.
Three questions to settle before work begins
- What will we receive at the end of the first phase, and how will we check it?
- Which responsibilities belong to the consultant and which remain with our team?
- How will reporting distinguish completed work, observed visibility and business outcomes?
Clear answers make competing proposals easier to compare. They also give the team a shared definition of progress before any articles are commissioned.
